Tai Chi Sword (Tai Chi Jian) represents the culmination of Yang style Tai Chi practice. This traditional weapon, considered "The Lord of Weapons" in Chinese culture, requires precision, perfect balance, and a deep understanding of internal martial principles.
The sword form develops agility, timing, and coordination at a superior level. Each movement integrates Tai Chi principles with the dynamic extension of the sword, requiring fluid connection and refined energetic sensitivity.
This course is suitable for advanced practitioners who have mastered the empty-hand forms and fan forms, and wish to complete their journey in the Yang tradition with this masterful 32-movement form.

The Tai Chi sword (Jian) has a straight, flexible blade, about 70-80cm long. The weight varies between 400-600g according to height. The blade must be balanced and the guard must allow fluid movements. We avoid purely decorative or too heavy swords.
Practice is safe when following the basic rules: swords always pointed away from people, maintaining appropriate distances, following the instructor's directions. Initially, we will use swords with blunted blades.
No, the sword is for advanced practitioners. If you are interested but don't have the required experience, we will suggest a path to get you prepared: basic Yang Tai Chi, then fan, and finally the sword.
The complete form takes 9-18 months to learn, but perfecting it can take years. The sword requires patience and constant dedication. It is not something that is learned quickly.
Upon completion of the program, students receive a completion certificate. We also organize annual demonstrations where practitioners can present the form, but participation is voluntary.
The focus is on form and energy principles. Martial applications are only for educational purposes. We do not practice sword combat for safety reasons, but we explore tactical principles in a controlled manner.
